Josh Brolin and Tim Burton Teaming Up for The Hunchback Of Notre Dame
It looks like Tim Burton may actually be making a film without Johnny Depp in the near future. The Alice in Wonderland director is in the early stages of developing a film version of Victor Hugo’s classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame with Josh Brolin set to produce and star. Heat Vision reports that the project is in the very early stages, with Burton waiting on a script to officially sign on for the flick.Warner Bros. has tapped Kieran and Michele Mulroney (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) to adapt Hugo’s 1831 novel. Hunchback tells the story of a deformed bell-ringer in Notre Dame who tragically falls in love with a gypsy. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Musical Likely Won't Reach the Black
Making fun of director Julie Taymor's Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has been the kind of comedy gold mine that only Charlie Sheen could trump, but the troubles for the oft-delayed production are starting to get sad.
Over the weekend, The New York Times reported that Turn Off the Dark could be looking at its sixth delay, which would push its opening from March 15 to June. Officially, however, a spokesman for the production told the Times that, currently, "opening night remains scheduled for March 15."
Even more so than movies, plays depend on making an impressive debut, and Taymor has been making changes to the show weekly since previews (and injuries) began in November.
