Hollywood sues bargain streaming website Zediva
Six major Hollywood studios have joined together to sue Zediva for copyright infringement, claiming that the online movie-rental site is streaming movies without permission. The movie website launched in mid-March and offers recent DVD releases for as little as $1 per film. According to the complaint, posted on Wired.com, the studios are asking for monetary damages — including $150,000 for every movie Zediva streamed — and an immediate injunction against the website.»

Richard Curtis To Write 'Trash' For Stephen Daldry To Direct
With the names Richard Curtis ("Love Actually," "Four Weddings And A Funeral") and Stephen Daldry ("The Hours," "Billy Elliot") attached, you might think this is automatic Oscar bait, but what they're cooking up together looks like more of an adventure film with some serious cred behind it. Variety reports that Working Title has tasked Curtis to adapt the Andy Mulligan kid's book "Trash" as a directing vehicle for Daldry.
