The MTV-esque Oscar Opening Skit is Online
I hope people didn't confuse my comments referring to last night's silly Oscar opening as something I hated, I just didn't think it fit the Oscars. It also wasn't the first time it had been done as Billy Crystal did it back in 2004 at the 76th Academy Awards, and Billy even had Jack, whom to my knowledge wasn't even in the house last night. Come to think of it, I don't think Jack has shown up for three straight years now. Hard to blame him.
Either way, you can now compare last night's opening to Crystal's opening in 2004 with the videos below. Lemme know which one you prefer in the comments.

James Franco: Worst Oscars Host Ever?
Good thing Smilin’ James Franco has a couple day jobs he can stick to, because Awards Show Mc is probably no longer an option. Judging from Franco’s frequently-updated Twitter, the actor was too busy taking photos and backstage videos to put any effort into, you know, hosting the Academy Awards. While Anne Hathaway was at least eager to please, Franco mostly just stood around and played with his phone. His dull SNL appearance should have been a warning, but we’re still bummed by his indifferent performance last night, and can’t think of the last time someone flopped so hard. Don’t say Letterman—the late night host’s “Oprah! Uma!” stuff topped anything Franco muttered by a mile.
