After Seventeen Years, We Still Miss Kurt Cobain

It’s not really an exaggeration to say hearing the news of Kurt Cobain‘s death is the Generation X version of “Where were you when John F. Kennedy was shot?” Personally, I was in my living room watching MTV like I did every day after school my sophomore year of high school and watched Kurt Loder deliver the news, presumably right as it was released to the public. As a fifteen-year-old who was obsessed with alternative music, corduroy, and used cardigans, I was Cobain’s demographic and the news stung.

Today marks the seventeenth (!) anniversary of Cobain’s death and in his honor, we dug up some clips from the week that he passed away. It’s some serious MTV nostalgia, and it still gives us chills to watch. In the clip above, watch as Loder delivers the shocking news of Cobain’s death. After the jump you can»

Review: 'Your Highness' Is Fantasy That's Gloriously Absurd, Hilarious & Balls-Out Irreverent

The potential failure of something calling itself "Your Highness" and being marketed, in the most blatant of terms, as a medieval stoner movie, is fairly, er, high. These are untapped waters, and a fairly ballsy decision for Universal, after several big-budgeted near-bombs, to make a big budget, very-r-rated comedy that riffs on the esoteric spate of sword-and-sorcery movies from the 1980s (like Playlist favorite "Krull").
