Bryce Dallas Howard to Become Writer/Director With 'Breakfast Club'-Type Film

Over the last several years, Bryce Dallas Howard has been the go-to fill-in girl. She took over for Kirsten Dunst in 'The Village,' Nicole Kidman in Lars Von Trier's 'Manderlay,' the struggling Lindsay Lohan in 'The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,' Claire Danes in 'Terminator: Salvation' and most recently Rachelle Lefevre in 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.' With only 12 (credited) feature films, that's a pretty big percentage of replacement fare.
But now she's gearing up to follow in her father Ron Howard's footsteps and take the driver's seat -- not by swearing off replacement roles and cinematic scraps, but by taking over creative control and making her own film, one she calls "a 'Breakfast Club' for my generation."

5 More Disney Classics Tim Burton Will Probably Remake
It's not surprising that Tim Burton is attached to a new version of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." What is surprising is that it's not at Disney. Also, it's kind of a surprise that it will star Josh Brolin rather than Johnny Depp (though the Burton regular could wind up CGI'd as the title character if Brolin is playing Judge Claude or Phoebus).
