Trailer for Detention Starring Josh Hutcherson and Dane Cook

A trailer has gone online for Joseph Kahn's bizarre-looking new film Detention.  While the trailer cracks a joke at the expense of Kahn's previous film, Torque, it's an odd mish-mash that recalls gooey high-school comedies, Scream, and The Breakfast Club.  I don't know what to make of this movie and that's exciting.  The film will be making its premiere at this year's SXSW Film Festival and I'll be interested to hear the response.Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Detention stars Josh Hutcherson, Dane Cook, Shanley Caswell, Spencer Locke, Aaron David Johnson, Walter Perez, Erica Shaffer, Parker Bagley, and Alison Woods.Trailer via MTV.Movie Trailers - Movies BlogHere's the official synopsis for Detention:Detention is a teen horror-comedy where the local students of Grizzly Lake must survive their final year of high school. DreamWorks picks up WikiLeaks books, but Steven Spielberg is not involved

Contrary to what you might have read online today, Steven Spielberg is not — repeat not — planning on directing or producing a movie about WikiLeaks creator Julian Assange, according to reps for both Spielberg and DreamWorks. DreamWorks has indeed purchased the rights to two WikiLeaks books — Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy — but at this point, there is no script for a WikiLeaks movie, no writer, no director, and no producer.
