Harry Potter studio tour promises Hogwarts and all

Warner Bros to open attraction at Hertfordshire studio in spring 2012, featuring props such as the sword of Gryffindor

Muggles will have the chance to attend Harry Potter's school from spring next year when Warner Bros opens a tour attraction at its Leavesden studios. The planned three-hour Potter tour at the Hertfordshire facility, where much of the Jk Rowling-based series was filmed, takes in the great hall of Hogwarts school and headmaster Dumbledore's office.

The hall was built in 2000 for the franchise's first instalment, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and is some 40 metres long by 13 metres wide with a solid stone floor. Dumbledore's office, built for the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, contains the sorting hat, the sword of Gryffindor and a number of paintings specifically commissioned for the films.

Warner acquired the Leavesden site, formerly the home of a Rolls Royce factory, late last year,»
