Disney Picks Up 'The Runner' As Potential Multi-Platform Franchise For Marc Forster
Looks like Disney is going to pull a Universal. As their colleagues across town gear up a three film adaptation of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" that will also include a television series to fill in the gaps, the mouse house is looking to do the same. Deadline reports that Disney has picked a pitch titled "The Runner" that they are hoping will be a mega sci-fi franchise. Juliette Lewis Joins 'Hick' With Chloe Moretz & Blake Lively; Signs On For Thriller 'Single Shot'
Juliette Lewis was only seen in a couple of poorly received films last year--"The Switch" and "Conviction"--but here's the thing: she was the best part about either film. As the hippy dippy friend in the former and the key white trash witness in the latter, Lewis was alive and engaging in a way the rest of the film around her wasn't (and yes, she did a brief cameo in "Due Date" as well).
