Nintendo 3Ds Debuts with Record-Setting Pace
Over the weekend, Nintendo unleashed the 3Ds, its all-new handheld which boasts the ability to look at 3D images and video without glasses. It's the latest in the long line of handheld gaming systems from the makers of Mario and looks to be their most successful one yet.
Official numbers aren't yet available but Nintendo issued the following statement:
U.S. day-one sales numbers for Nintendo 3Ds were the highest of any Nintendo hand-held system in our history. More details about U.S. sales numbers will be made public on April 14, when first-week U.S. sales figures will be tallied by the independent Npd Group. Nintendo worked hard to get as much product as possible to retailers on day one to meet demand, and we will continue with these efforts moving forward."

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Opening day of the 2011-12 Major League Baseball season is tomorrow and while I'm not exactly a big baseball fan, that is unless someone has tickets to the Mariners, baseball tends to be one of the few sports that translates well to the big screen. I assume this is because it moves in short bursts and isn't action packed such as basketball or football. Plus when it comes to depicting baseball strategy on the big screen they are most often able to boil it down to a strike out, home run or a stolen base. It's a bit easier to dramatize something when you don't have to worry about explaining zone defense or what it means when a team puts in a nickel package.
As such, there are far more great baseball movies than there are for most any other sport. Boxing may be the one sport to hold the overall edge,»
