38th Telluride Film Festival: Maira Kalman's Poster Art Revealed
The Telluride Film Festival (September 2-5) chose Maira Kalman as the poster artist for its 38th year. New York-based Kalman has been working as a designer and illustrator for over 30 years. Of the poster she says: “High in the San Juan Mountains people gather each year to experience the unexpected: moving images from around the world that take them on journeys they may never have imagined. After sitting on the studio shelf thanks to Disney’s sale of Miramax, the haunted house spook-fest Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is finally heading to theaters this August, and the new full trailer gives us our first real idea of what the horror film has in store.
