Adam Shankman Gets Russell Brand, But Amy Adams Won't Bed Tom Cruise In 'Rock Of Ages'
Adam Shankman has tweeted that he got Russell Brand to play Lonny in the New Line musical Rock of Ages. But Shankman's pursuit of Amy Adams didn't work out. He wanted her to play the role of the journalist who duets and then beds down with Tom Cruise's decadent rock star character Stacee Jaxx, but Adams' schedule was complicated by landing the Lois Lane role in the Superman film Man of Steel. Shankman's still looking.Brand's casting was first disclosed by Deadline on Jan. 20. He'll play Lonny, who runs the '80s rock club The Bourbon for owner Dennis (Alec Baldwin). Brand and Baldwin get to sing a rousing version of the Reo Speedwagon tune Can’t Fight This Feeling. Brand previously worked with Shankman in Bedtime Stories. ‘That’s What I Am’ Trailer – WWE’s Randy Orton Makes His Acting Debut Opposite Ed Harris
[1]A new trailer has been released for WWE Studios' That's What I Am, starring Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Molly Parker -- and professional wrestler Randy Orton. Yup, it's that WWE. The gargantuan sports entertainment corporation has been producing features through its filmmaking arm since 2002, including The Scorpion King (as co-producers), The Marine, and last year's Legendary. That's What I Am looks like a bit of a departure from the company's earlier projects, in that it doesn't seem to feature much in the way of action or wrestling. Watch the trailer after the jump.That's What I Am stars Chase Ellison as Andy, a typical eighth grader who learns lessons about courage and tolerance when he's assigned to work with an unpopular geek (Alexander Walters).
