Grease, Taxi Actor Jeff Conaway Dead at 60
Jeff Conaway, the actor who played Kenickie in the 1978 movie Grease alongside John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John has died. He was 60 years old. Conaway had been in a medically induced coma since being found unconscious in his home on May 11 from a suspected drug overdose — later determined to be the result of pneumonia and sepsis.
The troubled actor, who also had a successful TV career playing in shows ranging from Taxi to Babylon 5, had a history of addiction problems, showing up for a time on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. After doctors at Encino Tarzana Medical Center where Conaway was in the coma indicated to his family that a recovery was not possible, he was removed from life support.
