Marvel Says The Avengers Movie Has Not Been Halted; Chris Hemsworth Confirms, Adding that Stolen Script Is "Pretty Old"
Titillation quickly turned to panic among comic book movie fans last week when it was reported that a stolen copy of the script to The Avengers was being offered to the highest bidder and that the theft might force Marvel to halt production on its epic super-team movie so that writer-director Joss Whedon could do rewrites. Well, fear not, true believers — as Stan Lee, co-creator (with Jack Kirby) of the Avengers might say — because Marvel responded to the rumor by telling TheWrap that "filming for The Avengers is active, on schedule, and going well."
