George Lucas Sits Atop a Throne Built of 50 Scripts for 'Star Wars'
In 1977, George Lucas inadvertently changed the world. By unleashing "Star Wars" into theaters, the producer/director created a second universe into which millions of people all over the world have invested their time, money and lives.
With "The Clone Wars" animated series riding high into a fourth season, an imminent 3-D re-release of the entire saga starting in 2012 and new comics, novels and toys sneaking into stores everyday, "Star Wars" fever certainly isn't slowing down and it was only a matter of time before a new expansion of the series made its way into public eye. When Lucas recently appeared on G4 touting the new 3-D conversion process, he let it slip on a long-gestating rumor:
Yes, there will be a "Star Wars" TV Series. Yes, it's written. No, it's not coming anytime soon.
