Superhero Bits: Loki Suggests He Won’t Be in ‘The Avengers,’ Duncan Jones Meeting on ‘The Wolverine,’ Second Draft of ‘Ant-Man’ Delivered

While most movie news sites were kneeling before Michael Shannon as Zod [1] this weekend, several other interesting superhero movie bits also were revealed. First up, despite some strong suggestions [2] that Tom Hiddleston would reprise his Thor role as Loki in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, the actor himself has reportedly more or less cut down those rumors. Second, word from a recent Source Code Q&A is that director Duncan Jones will meet with 20th Century Fox to discuss him possibly directing Darren Aronofsky's abandoned [3] The Wolverine and third, we have an update [4] on Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish's script for Marvel's Ant-Man. First 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' Footage Showcases Man's Worst Enemy

Don't let Andy Serkis' new job as 2nd Unit Director on "The Hobbit" fool you — the man is most certainly still up to his old tricks as a motion-capture artist.

Not only is Serkis reprising his role as Gollum for "The Hobbit," but he's up to monkey business again with "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," Fox's recently retitled prequel to the classic "Apes" franchise. Serkis is channeling his inner King Kong once more as Caesar, the main ape in "Rise" that eventually leads an uprising against mankind.

A full-on teaser trailer for "Apes" is expected to land later in the week, and ahead of that, we've got our first official look at one of the film's monkeys in motion.
