ReelzChannel Special "Elizabeth Taylor: A Look Back" Premieres Saturday
Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor passed away this week, and in honor of her life Reelzchannel is airing “Elizabeth Taylor: A Look Back.” We’ll examine her contribution to movies and her extraordinary humanitarian efforts.
Elizabeth Taylor was an Academy Award winning movie star whose career spanned over 6 decades. She was known for her acting, her beauty, her violet eyes, her love of jewelry, but all of this was sometimes eclipsed by her chaotic personal life. She herself said once that she didn't remember much about making the budget-busting epic Cleopatra because "there were a lot of other things going on.”
Aside from being a great actress, she was also a great humanitarian. After the death of her friend Rock Hudson, Taylor began to dedicate a great deal of money and time to help in the fight against AIDS. In 1991 she launched the Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation.
