Teaser Trailer: Super 8 Preview
Well, I finally saw, here at the Star Cinema in Cannes, the 20 minutes of J.J. Abrams' Super 8 (June 10) Paramount had screened to media in New York and exhibitors at CinemaCon. The footage looks very Spielbergian, and serves to set up the film's characters, a group of teen guys and one girl (Elle Fanning) as they film a super 8 movie at a train station, when a truck veers onto the tracks and causes a stupendous train crash that lets out something wicked and alien into the area. My feverish anticipation for this film has been somewhat tempered by the realization that it's yet another monster movie. Sigh. It's looks well-made and scary undoubtedly. Topher Grace Heads 'Gently Down The Stream'
Exclusive: Topher Grace will star in Gently Down The Stream, which Justin Zackham is directing from his script for Millennium Films/Nu Image. He joins Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl and Amanda Seyfried. Grace will play Jared, the son of the characters played by De Niro and Keaton. He’s a doctor who ends up falling in love with a young Latin woman, awkward since she's his adopted brother’s sister. The pic begins shooting in July in Connecticut.Grace will next be seen in HBO’s Too Big To Fail. He also stars in The Double with Richard Gere and The Giant Mechanical Man. Wme and Brillstein Entertainment Partners made his deal.»
